Frequently asked Questions

Who is End of Life Coaching for?

Anyone who wants to spend some time thinking through and discussing issues related to the end of life, death and dying.  You might be reviewing your life goals, planning for later life, making a will, thinking about your legacy or be dealing with terminal illness.  You can be any age.

What do you offer which I can’t get from a solicitor?

A solicitor will take your instructions for a will.  A coach can work with you to explore and clarify your thoughts, and to bring them together to take to a solicitor.

Can you help me get my administrative affairs in order before I make a will?

Yes.  Part of the coaching process is about managing the tasks involved in making a will.  The paperwork may seem overwhelming.  I am happy to sit along side you and tackle it.

Can you write my will for me?

No¸ I am not qualified to advise on the legal technicalities of will writing.  There are a number of routes to completing a will;
Buy a pack such as Lawpack and do it yourself.  Use a will writing services or go to a solicitor

What sort of issues need to be decided on when making a will?

Solicitors often have an information sheet which will set out the information they need to take instructions for a will; see Marshall & Galpin Solicitors for an example.

Can you give me advice about inheritance tax?

No, I am not able to advise on financial or legal matters, but I can help you to prepare for meetings with specialist professionals so that you make the most of their time during meetings.

Can you help with feelings of bereavement?

There are many organisations who support people who have been bereaved.  A coach can work with you to find support from groups or perhaps, a counsellor, but is not able to provide bereavement counselling as such.

Where would we meet and how often?

Meetings are usually held at private premises near the centre of Oxford.  The number of sessions will be agreed between us.

How long are the sessions?

Between one and two hours, to be agreed between us.
